Pintwood Derby Contest at Pigeon Hill Brewing Company!
Ready, set, race! Join us for a high-speed day of fun, competition, and good vibes at the Pintwood Derby Contest at Pigeon Hill Brewing Company.
Whether you’re a derby newbie or a seasoned pro, this event is open to all ages and promises a great time for the whole family!
5oz. Pinewood PINTwood Derby Rules
CAR BODY REQUIREMENTS
– The main body structure must be made of wood. The car design may be enhanced by the addition of other stable materials such as plastic or metal. Any additions must be firmly attached and meet car size specifications.
DIMENSIONS
• Width: Maximum 2 3/4 inches
• Length (including Wheels): Maximum 7 inches
• Weight: Maximum 5 ounces
• Height: Maximum 3 inches
WHEELS & AXLES
• Your car must have 4 wheels to roll down the track.
• Metal axles (with a nail head) are required for optimal speed!
WEIGHT
• No Lead! Keep it safe and fun with non-toxic alternatives.
DETAILS
• Add flair to your car with a driver figure, decals, spoilers, or anything else that fits within the size and weight limits. Let your creativity run wild!
RACE CHECK IN DETAILS
• Check in your car Monday, April 21 through Saturday, April 26 during business hours at the Brewer’s Lounge.
• Each car will be inspected by the Official Derby Beer Committee (don’t worry, they’re real experts
).
• Once inspected, only race officials may handle your car, and no repairs will be allowed unless authorized.
• Important: Graphite can only be applied OUTDOORS (no messy spills inside the brewery!).
BUILD YOUR PINEWOOD DERBY CAR!
• Get your hands on a derby kit in the taproom while supplies last!
REGISTRATION
• $5 to compete- it’s all about fun, but we’ll have some awesome prizes for the winners!
PRACTICE RUN
Thursday, April 24 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Swing by to test your car and fine tune your skills on the track.
RACE DAY
Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 1pm!
First Heat takes off at 1:00 PM sharp don’t miss the action!
CHECK-IN WEEK
Monday, April 21- Saturday, April 26th. Cars must be checked in by Saturday, April 26th by 4:00 pm!
AWARDS- Must be present to win
Ages 16 and under: 1st – 3rd place
Ages 16+ up: 1st-3rd place
Additional Awards: Best Paint Job, Best Pigeon Hill Inspired Car, Slowest Car (yep, we’re celebrating every speed!)
