The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the City of Muskegon Social District are hosting the second annual Hay Bale Decorating Competition!
This free month-long event invites downtown visitors to walk around, view, and vote for their favorite hay bale. The decorators get to showcase their creativity by transforming plain hay bales into art. Voting will begin at the 2024 Farmers Market Harvest Fest on September 28th and continue through October 31st. Downtown visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favorite bale online. The winner receives bragging rights and a trophy.

This is the second year of bringing hay bales to Western Ave. The Downtown Development Authority purchased 20 hay bales for 2024.
We look forward to many people enjoying the hay bales this harvest season.
